Food for thought - Rating 5/5

Enjoyed our stay as always. Breakfast choices absolutely splendid. Evening menu and specials provide a good range of choice as usual although the layout of the menu was visually confusing and it wasn’t until day two that I saw past the numerous ‘boxes ‘ to the full range of options.

Pleasant stay dog friendly- Rating 5/5

We stayed for 4 nights with our 2 dogs. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and quiet at night. The food was very good so we dined there every evening. There was a good selection at breakfast and again the chef did not disappoint. We rarely stay in the same hotel twice but as regular visitors to the area we would have no hesitation in staying here again

A terrific base in Snowdonia - Rating 5/5

My three night stay at The Bryn Tyrch could not have been bettered. The whole experience unsurpassed. From booking direct and talking to the efficient Caroline, being welcomed by the ever friendly and helpful Steve, to being looked after by Johnny over breakfast when nothing was too much trouble. My front mountain view room was excellent, as was a welcome log fire in the bar as the June weather turned chilly yesterday........what more could a guest want? - A great Welsh ale and a choice on hand. I was only sorry I couldn't stay longer and will be returning soon.

Comfortable room and excellent breakfast each day and a really good menu in the evening. The whole team were extremely welcoming and friendly. Great Little Hotel - Rating 5/5

Two night stay to set us up for the joys of Snowdon. We booked Superior Mountain View Ensuite Double with Breakfast. The views were good, when there was no cloud...that must be the only thing the Bryn Tyrch doesn't have control over! The rooms are cosy, clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and very clean. The whole hotel has been very well maintained. Attention to detail in decor, provision of good quality allergy free bedding as standard, coupled with the excellent customer service made this a very enjoyable stay. The restaurant offer for dinner was excellent and very reasonably priced, evidenced by locals dining there. Packed lunches are available at a reasonable cost. Off road parking is available across the road from the hotel - where there is also a garden with river running at the bottom. Delightful If we were visiting Snowdon again we would stay here.

Amazing customer service - Rating 5/5

Well the Bryn is special to my wife and I, we stayed here when we got engaged and for our honeymoon and a few times in-between. Two children later and we needed to come back as a couple and we were not disappointed. About 20 minutes from arriving we were sent on a 45 minute diversion by the police. We had already rang ahead beforehand to order or dinner as it was past 9pm. When I rang again saying we wouldn't be there until 10pm they said it was no problem and our dinner would be waiting. We arrived and it was steaming hot! The staff were fantastic throughout a beautiful bank holiday weekend and we loved our stay. Always recommend the Bryn to family and friends and we'll be returning soon. Thank you guys.

Nearby is Capel Curig,Llanberis and the lovely little town of Betws y Coed. Ideal location - Rating 5/5

I have been a regular guest of the Bryn Tyrch since 1996. Since then I have seen the Bryn transformed from a very rough and ready placeto stay and eat, into a tastefully refurbished hotel. Rachel and Neilhave been attentive attentive hosts since they took on the Bryn. They continue with incremental and subtle improvements which add to the overall warm ambience. The food remains tasty, generous and satisfying. The current wines are good examples of their varietal. For those visitors seeking a friendly and intimate hotel in a stunning location close to many of Snowdonia's most iconic peaks, it is somewhere to be strongly recommended. There are many excellent walks and trail runs which can be accessed and enjoyed directly from the hotel. It remains my favourite place to stay in this part of North Wales.

Short Stay - Rating 4/5

We stayed for two nights in September.Initially when shown the room we thought it was very small and also cold as the window had been left open so we had moths on the bed and in the room. However once sorted the bed was very comfy with a warm duvet and excellent pillows. The bathroom looked new and to a good standard. Shower was very hot which is always a relief when staying away.We were the room next to the staircase and unfortunately several guests decided to leave at 5am who were very loud slamming doors and running up and down the stairs. All of the food is to a good standard and served piping hot. Large selection of drinks. I thought prices were very reasonable. Parking is great and very easy. Happy to come back in from a rainy day to find cake had been left after making up the room. Would stay again.

Another great stay at the Bryn Tyrch!- Rating 5/5

This was our third visit to the Bryn Tyrch and it didn't let us down. Great location (you can just about see Mount Snowdon from the front) with friendly staff, great breakfasts and spacious rooms (we stayed in the family room). This is a great base to explore the wonderful Snowdonia region. Thanks again Bryn Tyrch!

Our stay with you - Rating 4/5

We have stayed before and look forward to coming again. We recommend the Bry Tyrch to others too.It is so clearly a family business and not part of a chain. Please just remember the little touches eg formally the cake in the room was in a glass jar not just in a folded over plastic bag. Also, the veg breakfast looked a little sparse on the plate. The food is superb and you always seem to find very polished and professional staff. We love the decor of the place and the smell of coffee as distinct from that typical 'pub' smell.

This is the second time I have stayed here and it has been excellent on both occasions. A friendly welcome, good pub atmosphere with lots of walkers, and really good tasty food, from a varied menu with daily specials. Refuge in a storm - Rating 5/5

My partner and I had the good fortune of finding Bryn Tyrch just as the winds of Hurricane Ophelia were about arrive.Having just fled the tourist hordes of Bettws y Coed, it turned out to be a great find.Very comfortable and clean rooms and equally comfortable lounge areas in the pub.All to often the problem with staying in more remote areas is that you have to make do with substandard food, not here, the food was excellent and frequently changing daily specials mean there's always something new on the menu. The beautiful view of the river in front of the building and the mountain in the background just add to the pleasure. The hosts and staff are very welcoming and I can't recommend it to highly. Thanks

Snowdon car park, I believe. They even arranged a fabulous sunny day for our stagger up the mountain. And there's a flapjack fairy ...

Comfortable clean and friendly - Rating 5/5

This hotel was perfectly located for visiting snowdonia. The room was clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed, plentiful hot water and even flap jacks.Evening meals were tasty, and good quality and the bar well stocked. We particularly liked that a table was reserved for us just in case, without us having to ask.It was very chilled and relaxing.I think the hotel suffers a little of an identity crisis - part boutiquey, part country and part cafe (fake flowers on the tables, squeezy bottles of sauce)but that said we enjoyed our stay immensely. The breakfast could be better - the serving of a fresh pot of tea rather than an urn although minor would make all the difference. And fresh cooked bacon and eggs.A little more effort needed there. However, overall it was a great place and we would happily return.

Another lovely stay at the Bryn Tyrch Inn - Rating 5/5

This was our second stay at the Bryn Tyrch Inn, in the past 9 months. We stayed for three nights in the Tryfan Room (number 7). Our room was lovely, clean and decorated to a high standard. The only thing worth noting is that the rooms facing Moel Siabod will experience road noise when the window is opened. Our breakfast was cooked to order and always really well presented and tasty. The bar and reception staff were always friendly and helpful. They are very hardworking and conscientious. We also enjoyed an evening meal on two of our three nights. The food is always of a high standard. The Bryn Tyrch is an ideal location for people visiting the north of the Snowdonia National Park. Pen-y-Pass car park at the foot of Snowdon is only a 10 minute drive, as is Tryfan and the Ogwen Valley, just along the A5. Betws-y-Coed is about the same travel time, back down the A5.We will book the Bryn Tyrch, next time we are visiting Snowdonia.

Enjoyable stay- Rating 4/5

Having eaten here during an earlier walking weekend we were happy to book a room at Bryn Tyrch Inn. The room was good, staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was OK (though not quite gastro pub standard). The hotel also had a very good drying room for wet clothes after a day in the hills. My only (small) concern was that the room was very cold on arrival and again on day two when we got back from our walk - for some reason the heating did not come on even by 7pm, and it was a cold weekend. Staff turned it on when we asked but I'm surprised it did not come on automatically. Overall, though,a very comfortable stay.

Has always been my favourite place to stay in Snowdonia. A perfect balance of modern comforts with rural charm. The restaurant is first rate as well and offers a great selection of wholesome, different dishes that you wouldn't find in most pubs.

Beautiful place to stay - Rating 5/5

We stayed here while water rafting and it is a great base to get to Snowdon. The room was really pretty and clean, with a great view (rm 7). Home made short bread bicuits every day in the room was a nice touch and tasty. The food was the main reason we stayed having stumbled across the place last year on a trip. It is simply amazing...the best belly pork I've eaten. Would 100% recommend a stay here.

A great place to stay in a beautiful setting - Rating 5/5

The Bryn Tyrch Hotel is a fantastic place to stay, we loved it there. There is plenty of parking, the hotel is clean and the rooms are beautiful. We had dinner at the restaurant both nights and the food was fresh and reasonably priced. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and although there were many options to choose from the staff were happy to take requests for changes. The staff were also friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome. The location is also fantastic. We would definitely stay there again.

We have just spent our anniversary weekend at Bryn Tyrch and had a lovely peaceful stay with them.We walked to Swallow Falls which are about 3miles away following the river through the wooded and open countryside areas to see the better view of the falls from the woods side, this took us about 4 hours in total and is quite steep and boggy at times but well worth it if you like walking, there are plenty of other walks around the area as well with a walkers cafe just 1-200m along the road.We also went to Zipworld which is just 20minutes drive up the A5.Good selection on the bar and nice selection of food available, the menu on the website is more of a guide as this changed on both days we were there.Well worth a stay

A great escape - Rating 5/5

We stayed at Bryn Tyrch as two couples as we were all doing Zip World and this is well located mid way between Titan &Velocity. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and, after dumping our stuff in our bright, fresh, clean and modern rooms, we got comfortable in the sofas by the fire in the bar chatting to Neil and Rachel the owners. Hubby was impressed as they had two local real ales on tap which he tested numerous times over the weekend to ensure the quality was maintained! The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We ate in one evening and the food was great too.Internet connectivity is pretty important to us wherever we are. Bryn Tyrch provides free wifi which was enough for hubby to watch Formula One on his iPad but as there was no wifi in our room he had to watch it in reception (on their comfy sofa). In theirdefence they are making the best of what is available to them in the area. Also there is minimal mobile data coverage although you can make calls. This might be ideal for people who want to get away from it all though.Overall we all loved Bryn Tyrch and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or stay again.

Fantastic Experience - Rating 5/5

The food is outstanding, and the staff is extremely polite, pleasant, and helpful. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy, with a fireplace and a nice bar to sit at, and many different/unique seating areas. The accommodation was comfortable and well supplied. The Inn's location within Snowdonia is excellent, although a minor drawback is its close proximity to a fairly major road (noise, speed of cars).

Beautiful - Rating 5/5

Super hotel with extremely helpful staff and the lovely owner Rachel. I had a phone call two days before to warn me of the bad weather conditions forecast, with the option to cancel or rebook. We braved the weather and carried on with our trip and I am glad we did.The room was clean and very comfortable with a lovely view of the river and mountains. It had everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble and the meals were outstanding and of the very highest quality. We will be returning again very soon.

Snowdon hiking heaven- Rating 5/5

We stayed at this hotel as a group of two families comprising 10 people of all ages. The service we received from initial bookings to our final farewells was faultless. Nothing was too much trouble for lovely Rachael and her wonderful team. The rooms were extremely comfortable, clean andcosy. The bathrooms were perfect for huge bubbly baths after a day in the elements. The breakfast was 5 star. Completely delicious. They provided us with fantastic packed lunches at a moments notice. Gave us endless helpful information for our Snowden climb. They were very accommodating of my little terrier and noisy children who spent many happy hours enjoying the many board games provided. Thank you Bryn Trych for a fantastic trip ! We will be back. X

Bryn Tyrch Hotel - A great place to stay! - Rating 5/5

Excellent, food, real ale and very friendly staff. Dogs allowed everywhere. Would recommend it to anyone. We were a group of 10with 8 staying at the hotel. Two in a camper van for two nights and allowed to also park up for free! If we had one very small negative it would be the wi fi that only works in reception but in room you can get the hotels private system which you cannot log into.

Great weekend away - Rating 4/5

I decided to stay here as my and partner and I had tickets to do Zipworld close by. It was his birthday and i wanted somewhere cosy and special. There were a few mess ups at the beginning -room wise/booking. However things were sorted very quickly and we were upgraded for the trouble caused at our arrival. We couldn't of had a better room and better service. The diner was delicious too and in a wonderfully cosy setting. The only minor negative would be the small english breakfast portion sizes. But, the rest of the breakfast was lovely.Highly recommend Bryn Tyrch hotel!

Bryn Tyrch Hotel - Rating 5/5

We were on our first trip to Snowdonia in 12 years without either our own children or a school group and decided to treat ourselves to a stay at the Bryn Tyrch. We had often eaten here in the past and we had a lovely meal on the night we stayed. Breakfast was also really good the next morning. We loved our room - tasteful and comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome. We definitely hope to be back soon.

Some good some bad - Rating 3/5

My partner and I were staying for one night and looked for hotels with wifi and this one was recommended. You could only get wifi in the hotel reception and not in the room. The TV in the room only had 3 channels. Apart from that the room was fine and the staff where really friendly and welcoming. We had booked a table for dinner at 1830 and we where seated straight away, the choice of food could have been a little bit more varied as there was no adults chicken option, so my partner had to have a child's portion as she doesn't eat any other meat. When the food came it was worth the wait as it was really nice. The only complaint I have with dinner is that there was 3 dogs in the restaurant while we were eating food. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and would recommend just visiting it for breakfast if you are passing through. Pleasant views, nice quiet location great hospitality.

Response

Hi many thanks for your reviewWifi is not great in this are which is why we have no charge but we are looking to try bouncers in the corriders over the winter to try and improve . We know carry a chicken dish on the menu for adults! Thank you for your feed backwe note your feed back on the dogs and are reviewing our policy in light of thiskind regardsRachel roberts

Snowdonia Weekend - Rating 5/5

Myself and a group of friends visit Snowdonia several times a year and have had mixed experiences with accommodation. We booked the bunk room at Bryn Tyrch not knowing what the hotel was like. The room was spotless. There were tea and coffee facilities with lovely biscuits - luxury. Food in the hotel is slightly pricier than some but you certainly get what you paid for and we were not disappointed. The hotel prepared a substantial packed lunch for us at a reasonable charge and a minor problem with a mattress was sorted quickly and efficiently. The staff were helpful and approachable. We will definitely use this as our base in future. Thank you.

Lovely stay July 2015 - Rating 4/5

We stayed 7 nights for dinner, bed and breakfast and had a really lovely stay. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and catered for dietary requirements efficiently and without us needing to bring our own soya milk and gluten free bread (a nice change from many hotels we've stayed in).Room 7 was a delight to stay in with enough space, a good view and clean. The only minor disappointment was that when we returned from a day's activities on one day our room had not be serviced. It happened to be our wedding anniversary and were looking forward to a shower and the chance to get ready for the lovely meal that we knew awaited us downstairs to find the bed not made, no clean towels, the bin still full of rubbish and nothing replenished.Clearly our room had been missed out that day, however, upon mentioning it to the bar staff they were most helpful at finding us clean towels, emptying our bin and replenishing the drinking water and toiletries.Unfortunately that left no time for showering and preparing for dinner but that didn't worry us.Every meal we had at Bryn Tyrch was outstanding. The menu choice was vast and it all tasted beautiful.Hats off to the kitchen and bar staff who saw to all of our needs during our week's stay.

Great hotel - Rating 5/5

We are a couple with two teenage children and had adjoining rooms overlooking the river.Just sitting looking out of the window was great.Initially I was nervous that the road was right on the front door of the hotel, but that has no impact at all, as long as you don't run out of the front door without stopping and checking for traffic. The rooms were very quiet, warm, clean, neat, quite spacious. It's a lovely spot with a really nice path going up from behind the hotel onto a knoll and ridge.Breakfasts are spectacular with some real quality in the cooking. We had dinner with some of my extended family (11 in total). Not cheap, but excellent food.Lovely service.Very nice bar for having a pint in front of the fire.Very welcome after very damp climb up Snowdon with the children. We'll pick this place next time for sure.

We were a party of 8 adults staying one Sunday night following completion of the Three Peaks Challenge and a short drive from the car park at Pen y Pass.Despite our (somewhat dishevelled) state of dress we were made welcome by staff upon arrival. It had a very homely atmosphere, which contrasts with any chain brand, and there many lovely touches throughout. Although it was a fairly late arrival on our part the staff set up a table for the whole group for dinner. The lamb was gorgeous, as was breakfast the next morning.Rooms and facilities were generally excellent. For the room myself and my wife were in only one thing let matters down. The electric shower was just not powerful enough. Water flow was low and water temperature fluctuated wildly with minor adjustments of controls. At that point it was the one thing we really did need to work properly. However, it was clear that the rooms and furnishings had been recently renovated, so hopefully that was just a minor blip. I would have given the hotel a 4.5 rating because of this, but have upped it to 5 because the hotel is better than simply 'good' (score 4).

Welsh hospitality at its best - Rating 5/5

We have just returned home after staying two nights at the Bryn Tyrch Hotel. We were in the area to climb Snowdon and this was an ideal location being 10 minutes drive away from Pen-y-pass car park. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff could not have been more pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent and the chef was also proud of his/her presentation. Even the pack lunch was great! There was games provided for the children who were staying there. Would not hesitate to book again if we are in the area.

Short Break - Rating 5/5

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Bryn Tyrch, where we were very well looked after by Ruth, Neil and their staff. Our room was clean, comfortable and, being to the rear of the Hotel, it was nice and quiet. Nothing was too much trouble, and the bar/restaurant staff were very knowledgeable about their beers and the dishes on the menu. After a good day's walking on the nearby mountains, it was a pleasure to be able to sit down to a super freshly cooked meal, served from an interesting and varied menu with a good selection of local produce. Breakfast, too, was interesting, offering choices such as eggs benedict and smoked salmon alongside a substantial welsh breakfast. This was our first visit to the Bryn Tyrch - it won't be our last and I would heartily recommend the whole experience.

Oldies climb Snowdon - Rating 4/5

We enjoyed our stay, food was very good, room comfortable and clean and had all we required. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and pleasant .Ideal location forSnowdonia experience. The only three points we would make are, waiter on both mornings bought our cooked breakfast before we had finished our cereal, we had to ask to have them kept warm. The reception area although a very relaxing area looked untidy the children's games etc just needed a bit of organising. Plus the front step was never brushed during our stay the same dead moths were there from our arriving to our leaving. Just need to review housekeeping regime.

Sinclair stay - Rating 5/5

We booked a while ago for a 3 generation holiday and from the outset Rachel was enormously helpful in making sure we had the right room set up and advising us on the best dining options. We had a very warm welcome on arrival and my children were delighted with their double bunk room and the daily offerings of macaroons and Welsh cakes in the room. We were given a lovely table in the bar for dinner with views of Moel Siabod and Snowdon and started each evening with an excellent local beer (Rampart a particular favourite) and one of the good selection of board games. Both children and adults were very well catered for food wise and requests for changes to the menu obligingly accommodated. Food was excellent with a good choice. We particularly enjoyed the lemon posset. On our last day my 9 year old son managed to lose his favourite teddy bear at Port Meirion and Rachel and the staff made lots of calls to track him down and even offered to lend my son a bear for the night. All in all a great stay. Only one area for improvement would be a residents' lounge or somewhere to sit other than the bar and the couple of sofas in reception.

This was a return visit, and on this occasion a boys' weekend mountain trip. My friends are now converts to the Bryn Tyrch...a cozy oasis of comfort in the heart of Snowdonia. We enjoyed our visit thanks.Rooms clean, comfortable and stylish. In-room tea/coffee adequate but basic. Bathroom well appointed but shower rather feeble and temperature variable.Staff all very friendly and helpful, though had mentioned when booking that the visit was for my son's 21st birthday and there was no recognition of this - staff were clearly unaware. A small gesture would have been kind. Evening food was tasty, breakfast a little basic and we had to wait because of a large group even though we had requested a prompt service the night before because we needed to get away in good time. I feel that residents shouldn't have to come second to large groups staying out of main building.Overall a pleasant stay thanks.

Spent 2 nights at the Byrn Tyrch inn, travelling with a group of friends to tackle Mount Snowdon. The hotel is very welcoming and the rooms are good and well appointed, I think the hotel has had a recent renovation and it feels in character with the place. We had dinner twice and it was good food at a reasonable price with quite a lot of local produce. The service was excellent, even when very busy and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bar is good with some very good local ales. We enjoyed breakfast - a buffet style full english breakfast which set us up for a day in the mountains. We would definitely come back.

Overnight stay - Rating 4/5

I stayed at Bryn Tyrch over night on a sunday in late Feb.The staff were very welcoming and helpful.I satyed in single room, this was nicely furnished with a comfy double bed serviced with a clean and new looking ensuit with shower and with plenty of nice new towels.Dinner was elegantly presented, decent portion size (not too big or small).I had the salmon starter followed by a Welsh sirloin steak cooked perfectly washed down with a tasty pint of welsh beer (or two)Breakfast was as good as you can expect from a buffet style exlemplified by runny yolks in the poached eggs.I had a few problems accessing the wifi but this was resolved quickly when I asked for help.I looked a number of B&Bs before chossing this one and based my choice on it having a bar and restaurant (rather than a guest house type) so I did not have to go out to eat or enjoy a pint (I was arriving late and wanted convenience), and was compariable in pricing.Overall, good value for money and I would happily stay there again if in the area.

Really enjoyed our stay. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Only real feedback point is we made extensive use of the drying room (due to the wonderful weather!) and the room itself could be cleared out to make a proper drying space.....which is quite important for an inn in Snowdonia. Just returned from October half term break at Bryn Tyrch. We booked two adjacent rooms for three nights, which worked out well as our teenage children had their own room, but right next door to ours. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and warm, but not unbearably hot as some hotel rooms seem to be these days. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice for the three nights that we were there. All in all an excellent break - the weather could have been better, but pleased to report that they have a very efficient drying room that was put to the test and came out with top marks!

3 night stay. Comfortable bed, good sized bathroom (particularly the bath), tea+coffee supplied ... combined with excellent dinner (and beers) this is an ideal place to stay when visiting Snowdonia. Bryn Tyrch Review - Rating 3/5

The stay was perfectly pleasant and was good value for money.Room:This was good and the bed was excellent. A good bath as well.Welcome:Very good and enjoyed complimentary tea and biscuits on arrival.Dining:Not doing a cooked breakfast to order is a negative and I believe this change has only happened recently. There were no changes to the dessert "menu"during our three day stay, which was limitingOverall:Good value fro money. I would go back

Response

Hi many thanks for your review in light of your comments we have ensured that there is more variety on the dessert menu. The buffet style breakfast was bought in about two years ago in relation to feedback about guests wanting to get on to the hills quickly and also to keep our mid week rates competitive in the harder economic times while still providing choice. We will feed your comments back to our kitchen and take account of them when we review our breakfast offering at the end of the season

Overnight stay - Rating 5/5

We have just returned from an overnight stay at Bryn Tyrch. A very warm welcome, our room was immaculate &comfortable, the views were excellent from the bedroom window. We did not have an evening meal but did enjoy a hearty breakfast. The whole place is a credit to the owners &I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Fabulous Snowdonia - Rating 5/5

We have stayed at Bryn Terch before but this is my first review. Perfect location between Betws y Coed and Snowdon. When we arrived the room wasn't set up as a double as booked, but the Manager offered us a complimentary drink whilst they switched the room over to a double. The room was great. Not the largest, but nicely furnished and everything you would need. Very comfy bed. All clean and welcoming. We ate both nights at the Bryn Terch and on both occasions my meal was excellent.I had the burger on the first night and the Paprika Chicken with chorizo risotto on the second night. The chicken / risotto was one of the nicest meals I can remember for a long time. It is not a cheap place to eat but the quality is fantastic. My wife was only disappointed that there was no salad on the menu, but I guess the menu is set up for walkers who want good wholesome and filling dishes and it certainly hit the spot for me.Excellent range of local beers too. All in all a great stay and I would not hesitate to stay again and to recommend the Bryn Terch to anyone. Splendid.

Fantastic - Rating 5/5

Wow! What a find. We stayed in the suite (room 11?) which had a completely separate living room. Even with three beds in the living room for the kids, it wasn't cramped. The food was excellent. The location is amazing - you can walk from the door. We had packed lunch from the hotel one day and I'm sure that's what contributed to our three year old managing a seven mile hill walk! Packed lunch was a treasure chest (well bag) of sandwiches, crisps, nuts, dates, chocolate drops and brownies. Fantastic. The staff were generally very friendly - the two managers (owners?) were outstanding, especially the lady - really welcoming, even when I mentioned a couple of the mains were a bit light on the sauce:mash ratio - or a bit 'cheffy' as she put it and she insisted on getting some more sauce - brilliant.Minor niggles - you really should hoover spiders out of the corners of bedrooms when you clean them (I collected 8), nowhere near enough sauce/gravy/jus on mashed potato meals (although the meat was cooked PERFECTLY), could do with a veg side order option for the kids menu (although I know if I'd asked you would have given us more - I just hate being the complaining customer)Food excellent, breakfast was buffet and was lovely - sausages very, very good -, wine really nice (although I'd stick a couple more upmarket ones at the end of the menu if I were you) and the rooms were just lovely - nice toiletries, nice linen, etc. Watch the towels drying mechanism because some of ours smelled a little damp when we arrived.Have already recommended it to friends and we will definitely come again. It is really difficult to find a hotel that accommodates three kids in one room.

Great Inn in great location - Rating 5/5

Very clean, tidy and well decorated Inn, which is ideally suited for a Snowdonia walking holiday.Excellent service from friendly and efficient staff.Food was high quality and the beer very good too.Perhaps a few cheaper options on the bar menu would be our only suggestion. But overall great value for money.

Nice Place - Rating 5/5

Stayed here with my Brother during a climbing/walking trip. All round one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The room was really nice with comfy beds and fresh modern decor. The Staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent if a little pricey!. Saw a few drop in diners from the local camp sites or bunk houses leave once the saw the prices. Main courses approx £13-20. There is a lovely bar area with an open fire, Breakfasts are perfect for a day on the hills, pack lunches aren't really suitable for carrying up a mountain as the contain glass bottle of sparkling water but they do have plenty of fruit (Bottle of water, 4 plums, 1 peach, big bag of raisins and walnuts, bag of crisps &2 sandwiches).I would highly recommend this place and will certainly use again whenever I'm in the area.

Second Time Here - Rating 5/5

Once again a very nice visit. Staff always helpful and the chef far too good to offer bar meals, his a la cart offerings are exceptional. The place was very busy indeed which sort of reflected in the levels of service we experienced in October 2012, a much quieter time for the hotel. Never to be put off though, many thanks to everyone at Bryn Tyrch!!!!

Very nice hotel, especially for the price of the room - well worth the money.Breakfast was lovely and staff very helpful. The room was quite small though, and the tin of complimentary biscuits which was provided contained one already half-eaten one! When we arrived to check in we had to wait for 15 minutes as there was only one lady working and she was serving a large group in the bar.Only a minor gripe though.Would definitely recommend as a place to stay.

Wonderfully located for both west and north coasts and, of course, for Snowdonia parks and mountains. Beautiful room with large modern bathroom. Very clean and bright with lovely views. Excellent breakfasts and good quality, modern evening meals. Managed really well with efficient and friendly staff. Represents good value for money and lives up to its 4 star rating. Really liked the idea of being able to select our room from those pictured on the excellent web site.

Cozy Snowdonia gem - Rating 5/5

The appeal of The Bryn Tyrch is already familiar to me from "boys' trips"with my climbing and walking friends...located in the heart of the Snowdonia mountains;excellent kitchen;good, proper beers from local microbreweries. The bunk rooms offer great value for the priorities of such a boys' trip, but the finesse of the accommodation, and warmth of the welcome inspired me to return for a mini-break with my wife. She was equally impressed...the hardworking staff reflect the proprietors' dedication to great customer care...this is a place where you feel looked after. On my recent boys' trip, a newcomer to The Bryn Tyrch enthused "Let's make it an annual trip". My wife is now another enthusiastic convert, keen to return.

I stayed at the Bryn Tyrch Inn for 3 nights in July 2013 with my 12 year old daughter. This was our second visit - and we will be back. While the rooms are basic but comfortable, the location, as a base for walking around Snowdon, and the food are both outstanding. The only niggle, although not the hotel's fault, is that there seems to be no Vodafone coverage in the whole of Capel Curig!

We were made to feel most welcome by the staff who upgraded our room on arrival to a quieter position away from the bar area as a large group had been booked in for dinner and some noise was anticipated. We had a very peaceful night in a most comfortable room. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only downside was the quality of the restaurant food which promised more than it delivered.

Perfect Mountain Inn - Rating 5/5

We stayed only one night at Bryn Tyrch Inn, but remember it as one of our best stays during our two week trip to Britain. My wife and I were doing some walks in the area and found Bryn Tyrch to be the perfect conclusion to a long day of activity. Our room, the Llugwy, was exactly as it appeared on their website:modern, but cozy, with a great shower and a nice view of the surrounding hills and stream. We were blessed with beautiful weather, and enjoyed some great ales at sunset on their wonderful lawn outside the inn.How convenient to then be able to retreat to a wonderful dinner at their charming restaurant, where the service and food were outstanding. We much preferred the feel of staying in the countryside than the relative bustle of Betws y Coed just a 5 minute drive away.Without a doubt, we would stay at Bryn Tyrch again if we return to the area.

Athletes Ages Ago - Rating 5/5

As a group of 7 mature (read old) hill walkers &mountaineers, we had the pleasure of staying on a wet Sunday night. Despite arriving as drowned rats, we were immediately welcomed (wet gear and all) and checked in without any fuss as per our reservations. The bar is excellent, as was the beer and the staff joined in the normal walkers banter. The food remains brilliant (I have been eating here for 20+ years) and even out of 7 people, for once there were no dissenting voices. Rooms are small but very comfortable and a brilliant breakfast and easy checkout meant that everyone would be happy to return. For the outdoors person, the hotel is 5* - for people used to city hotels, probably 4*.

Nice a friendly atmosphere of which the staff made the place for us.Lovely accommodation with a great personal touch. The food from the menu was fabulous and great portion sizes. We chose to not have breakfast once realising that the option was only a hot cooked breakfast. This is a personal choice as we'd rather other options.Capel curing is slightly out of town, by 4 miles, but this wouldn't hold us back from booking again. This hotel is in the ideal location to mount snowdon, as it took us only about 12 mins to drive.A great stay thank you.
